The Finest Beef in the World
Kobe
For generations, Kobe Beef has epitomized luxury in culinary circles, cherished by celebrities, royalty, and food aficionados worldwide. Known for its buttery softness and exceptional tenderness, each bite is a memorable experience. Notably, the beef's exquisite marbling inspired Kobe Bryant's parents to name him after this delicacy.
The brand’s esteemed reputation is upheld by stringent production standards, with certified Kobe Beef coming exclusively from Japan's Hyogo Prefecture, similar to how true Champagne is produced only in its Champagne region in France. The cattle are sourced from just 12 Tajima Fullblood bulls, meticulously selected by the government each year for their superior characteristics. Limited to a handful of certified farmers, only about 10% of the 5,500 eligible cattle are exported annually, ensuring only the highest quality beef carries the coveted Kobe label. To be adorned with the iconic Japanese chrysanthemum mark, the beef must achieve an A4 or A5 grade from the Kobe Beef Association.
Sales are restricted to members of the Kobe Beef Association, encompassing farms, wholesalers, retailers, and restaurants, all of which must be officially certified. Any Wagyu labeled as "Kobe" that does not meet these exacting standards is not authentic Kobe Beef.
